Ukraine comments

[edit]

Another Roseanne controversy here: this time courtesy of an interview with Piers Morgan. In particular, she seems to be falsifying her own family history, claiming that her grandparents and their siblings were all marched into the woods and buried alive in Ukraine. But according to this Wikipedia article, her maternal grandparents were from Lithuania and Austria-Hungary (not Ukraine!), while her paternal grandfather (described as Russian here) changed his name from Borisovsky to Barr after immigrating to the USA. It would have been awfully hard for him to do that if Ukrainian Nazis had buried him alive! So it seems like she’s pulling a George Santos here. 2604:2D80:6984:3800:0:0:0:BCC8 (talk) 08:58, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think you’re failing to understand here. Ukraine was part of the Russian empire at that time. Her Grandfather may well have been marched through and there is no mention of his wife or partner, Roseanne’s paternal Grandmother - why do you think Roseanne’s paternal grandparent and her father fled Russia and changed their surname? Fear. The kind of fear that makes you hide even when you’re out of the country, the kind of fear that makes you afraid to speak about what has happened to you for years. 185.69.144.199 (talk) 13:19, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Borisovsky is a Russian, not Ukrainian, surname. And I've seen no evidence of Roseanne actually having any Ukrainian ancestry like she claims. Should she really be in the "American people of Ukrainian-Jewish descent" category? — Red XIV (talk) 03:02, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Roseann Has every right to feel the way she does about Ukraine thousands or Jews were rounded up and some turned in by neighbors and friends for just being Jewish by bands of sadistic gangs. They murdered them while they marched to their doom and then lined up on the sides of the trenches the Jews were forced to dig and were shot or stabbed or bludgeoned to death in rows while the rows waiting watched in horror of what was coming. I have seen the NAZI archived video footage of this being done to the Jews family members, children, spouses and grandparents forced to watch their loved ones raped and tortured and destroyed in front of them. The Jews that where murdered in Ukraine were not all from Ukraine many were marched from Lithuania and Poland to be murdered in Ukraine. Ukraine has been under the influence of NAZI's and the communist bolshevisms for so long and just when their country thought they could be free and as a nation the Hordes ones again want the resources of Ukraine for their own.
Roseann is a great comic and though she is rash in the series her character is what made it happen that is a testament to her skill. Many people do not understand that the best bad guys played are from the best actors or comedians. With out someone to be against and make the story flow the show becomes boring and uneventful. 75.182.89.94 (talk) 19:22, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Roseanne's appearance on Info Wars

[edit]

My comment was archived out of view for being "too old" despite only being posted 2 months ago, I'm posting it again here: "Roseanne made an appearance on Info Wars in March of 2023 where she was interviewed by Alex Jones. In it she espoused numerous false conspiracy theories including but not limited to an illuminati of elite individuals who have heart attack and earth quake machines used to assasinate celebrities and destroy cities via fake hurricanes. There are multiple news outlets that reported on this interview, and it's one of her most recent public appearances in several years. I believe this is relevant to be mentioned in the article." Roseanne has gone on to have many more appearances on Info Wars since this March, and has also appeared in similar controversial interviews, so it is more relevant to the discussion of her current state of affairs than ever. 2601:602:900:7910:8DD:4B6B:2EF7:2A35 (talk) 13:07, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I’d say that’s relevant. Especially because she described herself as a “targeted individual” in her most recent interview with Piers Morgan (see Ukraine section above). It’s highly likely that her comments about “assassinating celebrities” reflect an underlying fear that she could be next. It doesn’t justify any of the outrageous stuff she’s saying, but it likely explains it. 2604:2D80:6984:3800:0:0:0:BCC8 (talk) 13:22, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
